Dedication and True Commitment Are Excellent Qualities of Today's International Nurse

Nurses are a critical part to our economy, in today’s society, many Trusts are importing nurses from Europe and Asia. Nurses abroad are very enthusiastic at the prospect of working for the NHS in the UK, and are embracing the whole concept of a new adventure and  life away from their home comforts. When speaking with the nurses they all have in common a passion for nursing and an eagerness to branch out into a new culture, with this, of course comes more hard work on their part. Not only do they study a degree in nursing and work hard to gain experience and recognition in public and private hospitals, they are also required to pay to belong to professional bodies such as the NMC to authorise their practice as well as undertaking language tests which can cost up to a month’s salary and a minimum of 3 months additional study.

These dedicated and caring nurses, not only make sure their professional practice is up-to-date but make sure their written and spoken English are above average. For International nurses from Asia a nurse has to appear two to three times to score a 7 in each of the four categories being, Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Each time they take an IELTS exam, a nurse puts in 3-6 months of preparation time, some take a sabbatical to prepare for this.

We have recently identified 7 Trusts that are embarking on recruiting nurses with 2 years minimum experience. Although this raises the bar slightly and excludes newly graduated nurses, this also opens up the opportunity for those nurses who are further afield in India and the Philippines, who are specialist's and have accumulated a wealth of experience.

At Search we take the time to get to know each individual nurse and are always impressed at how, eager and willing  they are to go the extra mile. If you are looking for nurses that are qualified and experienced with great personalities, we have just what you need!

Send us an email or call us on 01252 372525 to discuss your nursing opportunities.
